Girl on the Gravestone

This photograph appeared in both the Chicago Sun-Times and the National Examiner. It was taken during an investigation in Bachelor's Grove Cemetery on August 10, 1991. The picture is an enlarged black and white infrared shot. It shows a young woman sitting on a tombstone with parts of her lower and upper body being somewhat semi-transparent. The dress she is wearing is also out-of-date.

 The Brown Lady

This portrait of "The Brown Lady" ghost is arguably the most famous and well-regarded ghost photograph ever taken. The ghost is thought to be that of Lady Dorothy Townshend, wife of Charles Townshend, 2nd Viscount of Raynham, residents of Raynham Hall in Norfolk, England in the early 1700s. Records show she was buried in 1726.

A lady by the name of  Mrs. Andrews took this picture of her daughter Joyce's grave site in Queensland, Australia around 1946. Her daughter died at the age of 17. After having the picture developed she was startled to see this child in the photo staring up at her and looking directly into the camera.  Mrs. Andrews says that no children were in the area, so a double exposure was impossible. She says she did not recognize the baby at all. Of interest, there is a grave of two baby girls nearby.

Terry Ike Clanton took this photo at Boothill Graveyard. In the front, Terry is dressed in old gunfighter garb of the 1800's period as a spoof. After developing the black and white film at a local Thrifty Drug Store, Terry was startled to find this image of what appears to be a man halfway in the ground.

This intriguing photo, taken in 1919, was first published in 1975 by Sir Victor Goddard, a retired R.A.F. officer. The photo is a group portrait of Goddard's squadron, which had served in World War I aboard the HMS Daedalus. An extra ghostly face appears in the photo.

In 1924, James Courtney and Michael Meehan, crew members of the S.S. Watertown, were killed by gas fumes. The sailors were buried at sea off the Mexican coast. For several days thereafter, the ghostly faces of the sailors were clearly seen by other members of the crew in the water following the ship, which caused an uproar. When the faces again appeared in the water, the ship's captain, Keith Tracy, took six photos, then locked the camera and film in the ship's safe. When the film was processed by a commercial developer in New York, five of the exposures showed nothing but sea foam. But the sixth showed the ghostly faces of the dead seamen. The negative was checked by the Burns Detective Agency and revealed no tampering.

This image was caught on infrared film during a paranormal investigation at a Toys R Us in Sunnyville, California, for the television series "That's Incredible". The man seen leaning on the wall was not observed by the others present. High speed film shots taken at the same time as this one showed no trace of the leaning figure! This Toys 'R' Us has a long history of being haunted by a ghost called "John" and store workers are used to seeing strange things happening, such as objects moving on their own.

In 1959, Mrs. Mabel Chinnery was visiting the grave of her mother in a British churchyard and took a photo of her husband, who was waiting alone in the car. When the film was developed, Mrs. Chinnery recognized the image of her mother in the backseat - the woman whose grave they had visited on that day. A photo expert examined it for a British newspaper and declared the photo to be authentic.

This photograph was taken inside the Sefton Church in September, 1999, in Merseyside, England. There was only one other photographer in the church beside the person who took this picture. Neither of them recalled seeing the ghost or any flesh-and-blood person standing there who could account for this image.

On November 19, 1995, Wem Town Hall in Shropshire, England, an old building built in 1905, was destroyed by fire. Tony O'Rahilly, a local resident, took photos of the spectacle from across the street. One of those photos shows a small, partially transparent girl standing in the doorway. Neither O'Rahilly nor any of the other onlookers or firefighters recalled seeing the girl there. Dr. Vernon Harrison, a photographic expert and former president of the Royal Photographic Society, examined both the print and the original negative, and concluded that it was genuine.

Rev. Ralph Hardy, a retired clergyman from White Rock, British Columbia, took this now famous photograph in 1966. He intended merely to photograph the beautiful staircase in the Queen's House section of the National Museum in Greenwich, England. Upon development, however the photo revealed a shrouded figure climbing the stairs, seeming to hold the railing with both hands. Experts, including some from Kodak, who examined the original negative concluded that it had not been tampered with. Its been said that unexplained figures have been seen on occasion in the vicinity of the staircase, and unexplained footsteps have also been heard.

Not much is known about the circumstances behind this strange picture. However it was taken by a total stranger through a Nokia 7250  picture-phone at Eastwood City in Manilla when a strange ghostly figure was seen apparently grabbing the arm of one of the woman in the picture.
Nothing was seen or felt at the time the picture was taken, but it seems to be quite a friendly spirit
